Follow the river is a photo
focused website designed to share and follow the adventures of Australian
nomadic kayaker Lachie Carracher.
Lachie has a passion for the outdoors and he follows the river as
many nomads and travelers have done throughout time. In a time with
technologies such as air travel and google earth, one would think
that there is not much of the world left to discover; Lachie has
proven this to be anything but true. Lachie has ventured into the
darkest and most remote corners of the earth with the rivers as
his guide.
Lachie’s credentials include: published photographs
in a broad range of media all over the globe ranging from billboards
in Nepal to articles in Australian Geographic. He has held
a place on the Australian whitewater kayak team since 2005, competing
in a range of events in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.
In 2010 he was named the Australian Young Adventurer of the year.
Only 21 years old, Lachlan's career has just begun.
Using knowledge and skills gained from living in Uganda and Nepal,
Lachie has lead international teams on wilderness expeditions in
Asia and the extremely remote and inhospitable Australian Kimberley.
Constantly busy, Lachie is a regular contributor to Australia’s
leading Adventure magazine Outeredge and has had a range
of articles published in Australia and New Zealand’s whitewater
magazine Cumec. Between writing articles Lachie is working
on his debute feature film titled “The Calling” which
he is co-producing with close friend Joel Kowalski.
